A Sporadic Light In A World of Predicted Darkness

Hi. I'm Brooke. 19 years young. Chicago born and raised, currently living in San Antonio, Texas. College-student. Lover of books, music, and the arts. Currently in training to be a US Navy Hospital Corpsmen. I love God, I love people, and I love love.

As I write this, tear descend like gravity

It’s my last night in the good old house. Although it is past 2 am, I still cannot sleep. Nervousness and excitement fill my lungs, and heart, and breath. I have waited nine months for this. Before my recruiter comes to pick me up at 11 am tomorrow, I still have to soak in my bath tub for a few minutes to remember the last good old days of civilian life.

As I close my one of my last tumblr posts for two months, I set off with some advice to future sailors:
- listen to your recruiters, they know whats what, and they really want to help you, not screw you over.
- Be confident in your answers. Even if you are wrong about something, pretend its right because you have a confident voice and a backbone behind it.
- Never say “sorry”. Its always “my apologizes”, or “I apologize”.
- Push yourself to new limitations and heights, you might surprise yourself :)

Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far. I love you all.
PS - NAVY BEATS ARMY 10 YEARS IN A ROW!
